NIFT Entrance Exam is a national level exam that is conducted in order to provide admission to the design aspirants in India. The exam comprises two parts namely, NIFT CAT (Creative Ability Test) and NIFT GAT (General Ability Test). Both the exams are held in the offline mode. NIFT GAT is conducted for all the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes whereas NIFT CAT is held only for the B.Des and M.Des programmes. It is essential for the candidates appearing for the NIFT Entrance Exam to be aware of the exam pattern and exam syllabus prior to the exam.

The candidates appearing for NIFT GAT are required to make strategies in order to ace the exam. About NIFT GAT 2021

NIFT GAT 2021 or the NIFT General Ability Test is a compulsory entrance examination that is attempted by the candidates seeking admission to the B.FTech, M.FTech and M.F.M as well as B.Des and M.Des courses. The potential of the aspirants is measured on the basis of questions from different spheres such as static general knowledge, fashion and industry awareness, current affairs, English comprehension, reasoning and mathematics. The exam is a paper-based test that is conducted for two hours for B.Des and M.Des courses and for three hours for the courses of MFM, M.F.Tech, and B.F.Tech.

Preparation Tip for NIFT GAT 2021

The candidates are advised to follow the preparation tips and tricks in order to sit for NIFT GAT. To prepare for the NIFT entrance exam, a candidate should be aware of the entire syllabus and pattern of the exam. Formulate a Plan- A candidate must be ready with a plan of action as it helps in sketching a clear picture of the task at hand. Solidifying the plan provides a clear picture of the actions and the aspirants become more earnest towards studying.

Know Your Syllabus- Prior to starting your preparation, it is crucial to know the entire syllabus of the NIFT GAT exam. The candidates must ensure that he/she is covering all the topics that might appear in the exam as missing out a particular topic might impact the final result drastically.

Study Right- The candidates must make sure that the books and all the study material he/she has picked up are authentic and based on the latest changes in the exam pattern. Picking up the wrong books and papers for study can cost a lot of time and energy of the aspirant.

Managing Time- Time management is the key to acing any exam. An aspirant is required to know the value of time and he/she must devote the maximum of his/her time in preparing in the right way. The time table made for the preparation can release a lot of burden off the back of the candidate. It is important to divide the study time and breaks such that it neither hampers the productivity of the candidate nor exhausts the mind of the candidate.

Practice Regularly- After the preparation, the aspirant is required to practice through the previous year’s question papers and from the sample papers as well. Candidates can also appear for the mock tests online to increase their speed and efficiency. Solving old question papers and mock tests provides a clear picture regarding the exam pattern in the mind of the candidates which further makes the process of preparation smooth.

Revision- The candidates are advised to focus on revision as much as they do on preparation because it helps in retaining the topics that have been studied already.

Sleep Right- It is crucial for the candidates to not give up on his/her sleeping time as it might impact the preparation. Lack of sleep leads to exhaustion of mind and makes it restless. Preparation for NIFT GAT requires a constant awareness of the mind and not providing it with enough rest can result in fatigue.

Optimism- The candidate must always carry a positive approach throughout the preparation for NIFT GAT 2021. Dwelling in pessimistic thoughts does not let the aspirant give his/her cent per cent.

NIFT GAT 2021 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for all the courses is different for NIFT GAT 2021. Candidates appearing for B.FTech, M.FTech and M.F.M are asked to answer 150 questions. Further, for M.Des and B.Des courses the aspirants have to answer 120 and 100 questions respectively. Yes. You can register for the LPU National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPU NEST) while you are still pursuing class 12th.
