KCET vs COMED-K: Which is Better?

Although both KCET and COMED-K are conducted for Karnataka state for admission into engineering programs, the choice must depend on the preferences of the students. For instance, if a student who is not a domicile of Karnataka can apply for COMED-K. However, he/she cannot apply for KCET which is only for the state-domicile candidates. In this article, we will look at the difference between both the exams depending on different aspects.

KCET vs COMED-K: Eligibility

The eligibility criteria of COMEDK is similar to KCET, as both the exams are similar for admission into engineering programs. As basic eligibility, the student must pass 10+2 from a recognised university with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as the major subjects. However, the eligibility criteria of KCET exam, the student must have passed 10+2 from a recognised school of Karnataka state. Moreover, the student must also possess an academic record of more than 7 years in a school approved by the Karnataka government. On the other hand, students from anywhere in India can go for COMED-K test.

KCET vs COMED-K: Admission Process

Although the procedures involved in both KCET and COMED-K exams are similar to each other, they still vary in terms of the process. In KCET, the student will have to get their documents verified before registering themselves for the KCET counselling process. After document verification and registration, the students have to fill their choices and the seat allocation is done. Finally, the student has to pay the fee for admission.

On the other hand, the counselling process for COMED-K starts with registration and some part of tuition fee payment as advance. After that, the students opt for the colleges and mock seat allocation is done. After the completion of all the process, document verification is done in the last stage for COMED-K.

KCET vs COMED-K: Exam Pattern

However, the examination rules and difficulty level for KCET is a bit more than COMED-K. Students can also check the syllabus of KCET and syllabus of COMED-K  to get more insights into the type of questions asked in both the exams.

KCET vs COMED-K: Admission Fee

The fee structure for KCET is lesser than COMED-K. Hence, it is advised for the students who are eligible for KCET and cannot afford to pay higher college fee to go for KCET exam. However, if the student does not fulfil the eligibility criteria of KCET and can afford a higher college fee, then he/she must go for COMED-K exam.
