Punjab Board Exam 2023 Passing Criteria
Earlier, Students needed to secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject as well as in aggregate to pass the Punjab Board Exams. But lately, a major amendment has been made to this scheme. Recently, a new passing criterion has been addressed by the PSEB which states that the students are required to score atleast 20% marks in each theory as well as in the practicals to pass those subjects, while the aggregate score of both theory and practical should be atleast 33%. on fulfilling these conditions, they would be considered as pass.
This is believed to be a student-friendly move as this will increase the pass percentage of the state. But the same has been a matter of controversy for some educational institutions on the accounts that this will lower the quality of the students of PSEB.
Punjab Board 2023 Result Rechecking/Revaluation
After the PSEB releases the Board Examination result 2023, instances may arise when some students might not be satisfied with their result. Students might feel that they would have scored more marks than what has been awarded to them. Such students need not worry as PSEB provides the facility of result Rechecking/ Revaluation. All they need to do is, fill the Rechecking/Revaluation application online through the Rechecking/Revaluation portal available on the official website.
Students can log in and fill the form by paying the required fee. The result will be updated after the board addresses the applications. The Board generally takes 10-15 days to release the updated result after reviewing the results of the applicable students.
Punjab Board Compartment Exams 2023
As per the new criteria, the minimum marks required to pass a subject are 20% while the student needs to score atleast 33% in aggregate to claim the Punjab Board Passing Certificate. But, if a student fails to fulfill any of the two mandatory conditions, he/she would be eligible to appear for the Punjab Board Board Compartment Exams 2023 and improve the score and finally obtain the Punjab Board Board Passing Certificate.
