NIOS Class 12 Exam Pattern will be released by the open school board for the 2024 exams. Students studying in Class 12th will have to study seven subjects, out of which 5 are compulsory and 2 subjects are optional. Candidates can choose the optional subjects from the list provided by NIOS. All the subjects carry a total of 100 marks including the theory exam, practical exam, and internal assessments. Students can raise their marks through internal assessment evaluated for 10 marks and practical exams comprising 30 marks. NIOS 12th Exam Duration 2024
For NIOS Class 12 exams, students will be given a total time of 3 hours. The optional papers including Mass Communication and Painting will be conducted for less duration. The details for all subjects are mentioned below:

NIOS 12th Exam Pattern 2024
Along with the NIOS 12th Date Sheet 2024, the board releases the NIOS 12th Exam Pattern 2024 every year. We have listed below in detail the NIOS 12th Exam Pattern 2024 for the students:
- There will be a total of 7 subjects in the NIOS 12th Exam Pattern 2024. Out of these 7 subjects, 5 will be compulsory and 2 will be optional subjects.
- The candidates will be free to choose their optional subjects from the list of subjects released by NIOS.
- There will be internal assessments for 10 marks.
- The overall score of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the theory exam + practicals + internal assessment.
- The students must obtain a minimum score & aggregate of 30 & 30% respectively to pass each subject and overall.
- The student must pass in 5 subjects including at least one but not more than two languages.

NIOS 12th Exam Pattern for Internal Assessment
The internal assessment as per NIOS 12th Exam Pattern 2024 will consist of one TMA (Tutor Marked Assessment ) for each subject. The weightage of the internal assessment will be 10% of the overall score. One TMA in each subject will consist of different question types such as short, long, and project based questions. Most of the questions will be application based. The students will be able to download the TMA from the NIOS website and submit them before the final date.
NIOS 12th Grading System
The NIOS 12th Grading System is done on the basis of the percentage obtained by the students. The grading is done for each subject as well as overall. Given in the table below is the NIOS 12th Grading System:
