West Bengal HS Semester Wise System 2026
West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has adopted a semester-wise system according to which two semesters will be conducted in class 12th, which will be semester 3 and 4. Semesters 1 and 2 are conducted in class 11. Semester III exams will be conducted in September, and semester IV exams will be conducted in April. Semester III will be based on MCQ, and Semester IV will be based on SAQ and DQ. You will pass class 12th if you obtain a minimum of 30% marks in any five theory papers of both semesters independently, and also 30% marks in practical exams of the different subjects separately. Passing in each of the language subjects is mandatory.
