Jharkhand Class 10 Exam Pattern 2022-23: The class 10th board exams in Jharkhand are conducted every year by the Jharkhand Academic Council Ranchi (JAC). Changes Introduced in Jharkhand 10th Exam Pattern
With the release of new exam pattern for class 10th, JAC board has also introduced some major changes. As per the latest Jharkhand Class 10 Exam Pattern 2022-23, the following changes have been introduced:
- The 10th board exam will be conducted by the board in two stages: Term I and Term II.
- The guidelines for two terms exam will be released officially by the Department of School Education and Literacy.
- The Term I exam will be conducted in the month of November to December 2022. While the Term II exam will be conducted around the month of May 2023.
- Both the exams will be conducted for 40-40 marks.
- There will also be an internal assessment at the school level which will be conducted for 20 marks. Hence, the total marks for the exam will be 100.
- While Class 10th Term I board exam will be MCQ based to be conducted on OMR sheet, the Term II exam will be subjective.
- The syllabus will also be divided into two terms.
- The final result will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained by the students in both the terms.
Why is Jharkhand Board Bringing These Changes?
JAC board has brought these changes with the purpose of easing the difficulty level for the students. Dividing the exam in two phases will also divide the syllabus into two parts. This will make it easier for the students to prepare for the exam and will also help to reduce their overall stress.

The Jharkhand 10th Exam Pattern 2022-23 can be understood in detail through the points mentioned below:
- The mode of the exam will be offline i.e. pen and paper mode.
- The total duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
- The exam will be conducted in Hindi & English medium except the language papers.
- The Jharkhand 10th board exams 2022-23 will be divided into two terms: Term I and Term II.

Given below are some of the major points describing the Jharkhand class 10th marking scheme 2022-23:
- The overall exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks.
- The internal assessment will be conducted for a total of 20 marks.
- There will be no negative marking.
- The theory exams will be conducted for a total of 80 marks (40 for Term I and 40 for Term II).
- The minimum passing marks for all the students is 33% aggregate overall. The students must score at least 33% aggregate in each subject to pass the exam.

Jharkhand has introduced a grading system for class 10th which will be implemented on each subject. The grades will be provided to the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in the board exam following a 9 point grading system. Grades will be awarded in each scholastic subject. For awarding the grades, the Board will put all the passed students in a rank order and will award the grades as follows:
