Maharashtra Board SSC Exam Pattern 2022-23: MSBSHSE is the board that conducts the class 10th board exam every year. The board also releases the Maharashtra 10th Exam Pattern 2022-23 and Maharashtra Class 10 Syllabus 2023 online on its official website. The exam pattern is designed with the purpose of giving the students an overall idea of the type of questions asked in the exam and the pattern of the questions. Changes Introduced in Maharashtra 10th Exam Pattern 2022-23

MSBSHSE board revises its exam pattern every year and it's not necessarily the same every time. Even though the major part of the Maharashtra 10th Exam Pattern 2022-23 remains same, there are few changes that are introduced by Maharashtra board this year. Some of the major changes brought by the board in the Maharashtra Board SSC Exam Pattern 2022-23 are listed below:

  • The students are required to take the board exam for 6 subjects which will be compulsory.
  • The 6 subjects will include English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and two optional language subjects
  • The score of 5 best subjects will be taken into consideration to calculate the the final score of the students.

Maharashtra Board SSC Exam Pattern 2022-23

It is very important for the students to be completely aware of the Maharashtra 10th Exam Pattern 2022-23 which will not only help them prepare well for the exam but also score higher marks. After checking the exam pattern students may start solving Maharashtra SSC Sample papers so that they can get a brief about the exam pattern.

  • The exam will be conducted in the offline mode (pen and paper).
  • The students will have to appear for 6 compulsory subjects in the exam which includes English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and two optional language subjects.
  • The students can choose any two optional subjects as per their choice of subjects.
  • The duration of the board exam will be 3 hours for each subject.
  • There will be two parts of the Maharashtra 10th Exam Pattern 2022-23, internal assessment and the final exam. 20% marks will be awarded for internal assessment and the remaining 80% marks will be awarded for final exam.
  • The final result will be calculated by adding both scores.
  • The overall marks as per Maharashtra 10th Exam Pattern 2022-23 will be 100 marks.
  • Maharashtra 10th exam will consist of different types of questions such as Multiple choice, very short, short and long answer questions.
  • There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • The long and short answer questions will range from 1 mark to 5 marks. The internal assessment will consist of different components such as portfolio, oral tests, notebook submission, etc.

The English paper for Maharashtra 10th board 2022-23 will be conducted for a total of 3 hours duration. The paper will be conducted for a total of 100 marks out of which 20 marks will be for internal assessment and 80 marks for final exam. The paper will be divided into 4 different sections: Reading Skills (Textual), Reading Skills (Non-textual), Grammar and Writing Skills. The Mathematics paper for Maharashtra 10th board 2022-23 will be conducted for a total of 3 hours duration. The paper will be conducted for a total of 100 marks out of which 20 marks will be for practical exam and 80 marks for final exam. The paper will be divided into 2 different sections: Section 1 for Algebra and Section 2 for Geometry. Each section will consist of 40 marks and will have same questions types. The paper will be conducted for a total of 100 marks out of which 20 marks will be for practical exam and 80 marks for final exam. The paper will be divided into 2 different sections: Section 1 for Science & Technology Part 1 and Section 2 for Science & Technology Part 2. Maharashtra Board SSC Exam Pattern 2022-23 for Optional Subject

The optional subject paper for Maharashtra 10th board 2022-23 will be conducted for a total of 3 hours duration. The candidates can choose any two papers as per their choice. The choice of subjects for language consists of Modern Indian Languages, Classical Languages and Modern Foreign Languages. The paper will be conducted for a total of 100 marks.

Maharashtra Board Class 10 Exam Pattern 2022-23 Marking Scheme

It is also important for the students to go through the Maharashtra Class 10th Exam marking scheme. This will help the students understand how the questions will be marked and how to answe them to gain more marks. The students can check from the points below the Maharashtra 10th Exam marking scheme:

  • The overall exam will be conducted for 100 marks for each subject. 
  • The internal exams will be conducted as 20% part of the exam.
  • The remaining 80% marks will be awarded for the final written exam.
  • There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • 20% marks for internal assessment will be divided as per the components.
  • For subjects like Science, practical exam will be conducted for 20% marks and 80% marks will be given for final written exam.
  • The minimum passing marks for all the students is 33% aggregate overall. The students must score at least 33% aggregate in each subject to pass the exam.

Maharashtra Board SSC Grading System

Maharashtra has introduced a grading system for class 10th which will be implemented on each subject. The grades will be provided to the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in the board exam following a 9 point grading system. Grades will be awarded in each scholastic subject. For awarding the grades, the Board will put all the passed students in a rank order and will award the grades as follows:
