Tamil Nadu Class 12 Physics Syllabus 2023-24 will be released on the official website at dge.tn.gov.in. The syllabus has a total of 9 units and 14 chapters. The theory part carries 70 marks while the evaluation scheme part carries 30 marks. Some of the important topics added in the class 12 syllabus are Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic waves, etc. Students should go through all the topics mentioned in the syllabus to score the maximum marks. Along with theory-based questions, students will also have to answer the numerical questions.

Electromagnetic waves

Wave optics

Theories on light, Wave nature of light, Interference, Diffraction, Optical instruments, Wave front and Huygens principle, reflection and refraction of plane wave at a plane surface using wave fronts. Huygens' principle is used to demonstrate the laws of reflection and refraction. Interference. Young's double-slit experiment and fringe width expression (final expression without derivation only), coherent sources and continuous light interference, single-slit diffraction, and central maxima width (only qualitative treatment).
