Maharashtra HSC Grading System 2024 is released by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). The Maharashtra HSC Board 2024 follows the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation pattern (CCE) for Class 12th. This signifies that the students are assessed through several exam conducted throughout the year rather than just being brought under a single examination. According to the grading system, students who achieve 75% or above receive a Distinction grade. Those who score between 60% and 74% are awarded a First Division. Students scoring between 45% and 59% attain a Second Division. Those who secure marks between 35% and 44% pass with a Pass Grade. Students scoring below 35% are considered failed.

Maharashtra HSC class 12 Grading system 2024 assesses the performance of the students based on the following criteria. It awards division to the students corresponding to the percentage secured by them. The Maharashtra HSC Class 12 Grading System 2024 is tabulated below:

Maharashtra HSC Grading System 2024: Passing Criteria 

Maharashtra HSC Class 12 students need to score at least 35% Marks in each subject ( in theory and practicals individually) as well as in aggregate to pass the Maharashtra HSC Class 12th Board Examinations 2024. Accordingly, the minimum grade required to claim the pass status is C. As per the Maharashtra HSC Scheme of Examination, the exams for a student are conducted for 5 subjects, out of which 4 are optional subjects while there is one main language subject. The maximum marks for a language subject are 100 while the Mathematics and Science subjects are divided into two parts and hold 150 marks individually.
Students who fail to secure the minimum passing marks in Maharashtra HSC Class 12 Board Exams, will be allowed to sit in the Maharashtra HSC Compartment exam. These examinations are the improvement exams in which a failed student can appear to secure passing marks. Check the passing marks here:

Important Points for Maharashtra HSC Grading System 2024

  • Concerning the condonation marks, if a student requires more marks, then in such cases no condonation marks will be rewarded, depriving even the minimum condonation marks.
  • Sports Quota holders i.e. students who are represented at the state, national, or international level during the current academic year are eligible to receive grace marks up to 20 in each subject.
  • In addition to this, candidates who have taken part in the Republic Day parade (RDC), conducted in New Delhi; shall be eligible to receive 20 percentage grace maks in each subject.
