ICSE Class 10 Social Science Exam Pattern 2025-26: ICSE Class 10 Social Science is divided into three parts: History, Civics, and Geography. History and Civics papers will be conducted together, and geography papers will be taken separately. The ICSE history and civics question paper 2026 consists of 80 marks, and students have two hours to complete the paper. The ICSE history and civics exam contains 30 multiple-choice questions, with the remainder of the paper consisting of descriptive questions. ICSE Class 10 Geography Paper will also be of 100 marks, of which 20 are for Internal Assessment, which would be in the form of Assignments or Project Work. ICSE Class 10 History and Civics Exam Pattern 2025-26

ICSE Class 10 History and Civics Paper Blueprint 2025-26

The sample paper provided by the board and the ICSE History Class 10th History Paper follow the same structure. There are both subjective and objective questions on the ICSE Class 10 History & Civics question paper. Before starting the Class 10 History & Civics question paper 2026 ICSE, candidates must read the following general instructions:

• All Questions are compulsory.
• There are two parts to ICSE Class 10 History & Civics question paper 2025: I & II.
• All questions from Part I are compulsory.
• Students are allowed to attempt any five questions of their choice from Sections A and B of Part II.
• Part II is further divided into sections A and section B.
• Section A consists of 3 questions and section B consists of  5 questions.
• Students have to attempt any two questions from Section A and any three questions from Section B.

ICSE Class 10 History Internal Evaluation 2026

The ICSE Class 10 History syllabus 2026 includes a total of 20 marks for Internal Assessment . This component evaluates students through various projects and assignments based on the topics covered in the syllabus. The internal assessment encourages research, creativity, and analytical thinking. Students can choose from a range of suggested project topics, such as:
Comparison Study: Compare the Parliamentary and Presidential forms of Government in India and the U.S.A. Practical Activity: Conduct a Mock Court session and document the entire proceedings.
Biographical Study: Present a biography and highlight the contributions of any one of the Presidents of India, such as Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, or Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Wings of Fire Film Analysis: Discuss the historical relevance of a film related to 20th Century Europe, such as The Book Thief, Schindler’s List, Escape to Victory, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Life is Beautiful, The Sound of Music, Gandhi (Richard Attenborough), Sardar (Ketan Mehta), or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose – The Forgotten Hero (Shyam Benegal).
Research Project: Highlight the work and achievements of any one Nobel Laureate, such as Malala Yousafzai or Kailash Satyarthi.
Digital Presentation: Create a PowerPoint presentation on India’s Independence and Partition.
Comparative Study: Make a presentation on the influence of Gandhian principles on Martin Luther King Jr. or Nelson Mandela.
UN Report: Prepare a detailed report on the contributions of any one of the following United Nations agencies – UNESCO, WHO, UNICEF, ILO, UNDP, or FAO.

These projects aim to enhance students’ understanding of history through practical and analytical engagement, fostering research skills and a deeper appreciation of historical events and figures.

ICSE Class 10 2025-26 Geography Internal Assessment

As per the ICSE Class 10 Geography syllabus 2025–26, the Internal Assessment carries a total of 20 marks, which includes Project Work and other assignments. Project Work: Students are required to prepare a project report and complete assignments based on a topic prescribed or approved by the board. The Project Work component carries 10 marks and is designed to help students develop research, analytical, and presentation skills. ICSE Class 10 Geography Paper Blueprint 2025-26

There will be two sections to this paper: Part I and Part II. The first section, "Map Work," consists of two compulsory questions. While Question 2 will be based on an outline map of India, Question 1 will be based on a topographical map. During Part II (Indian geography), candidates will have the opportunity to answer any five questions. While writing answers, candidates are asked to utilize as many sketches, graphs, diagrams, and charts as possible.

• All questions of Part I are compulsory. This part is of 30 marks.
• A total of five questions are to be attempted from Part II. Part II is of 50 marks.
