ISC Passing Marks for Class 12th 2024: Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination has set a minimum range of marks to pass the class 12 exams. For each subject in class 12, students need to score 40% marks. In all subjects of Science, Commerce, and Arts streams, students require 40 marks to pass the exam. To secure the ISC passing marks, students can plan a strategy. The students should aim at scoring 40% marks in each of the subjects and an aggregate of 35% overall. Only then they will be given the “pass” status. From the points below, students can check the passing criteria:

  • Students appearing for the ISC 2024 exam must appear for the compulsory English exam and four elective subjects.
  • Students will only be allowed to appear for the exam in a maximum 6 subjects.
  • A pass certificate will be provided to students who score at least 35% marks. 
  • Students scoring less than 35% marks will be awarded with a PCNA or Pass Certificate Not Awarded status. 
  • Students failing in one or two subjects will only be allowed to appear for the ISC compartment exams.

Which subject combinations are students not allowed to opt for in ISC board?

Students studying in ISC board are not allowed to opt for following combinations:

  • Physics with engineering science
  • Geometrical & mechanical drawing with geometrical & building drawing

What happens if a student fails to score the passing marks in ISC exams?

If a student fails to get the passing marks in ISC exams, they can appear for the ISC compartment exams. The board will allow students to appear for two major subjects if they pass in English and two elective subjects.

Is there a practical exam in ISC Class 12 Biology?

Yes, the students studying Biology will have to appear for a practical and theory exam. 

Can students get grace marks in ISC Class 12 exams?

ISC board has no grace marks system. The students need to secure 35% marks overall to pass the exam.

Is it difficult to score high marks in ISC Class 12 theory exams?
