RBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam Pattern 2025-26 provides information about the topic-wise marking scheme. The theory paper will be held for 56 marks + 14 marks for sessional and there will be a practical paper for 30 marks.

RBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam Pattern 2025-26 is now published online. The weightage of the Chemistry paper is 100 marks, while the theory exam will be 56 marks, and the practical exam will carry a weightage of 30 marks, with 14 marks for the sessional. This 70-mark theory paper will be a combination of 56 marks (marks for the paper) and 14 marks (sessional assessment). The RBSE Class 12 Chemistry question paper comprises MCQs, very short answer type, short answer type, and long answer type questions. The RBSE Class 12 Chemistry Syllabus 2025-26 includes a total of 10 chapters whose marks are equally distributed. The maximum weightage carrying chapter is Chapter 8, Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids, which will carry 7 marks in the exam. Other than this, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, and Alcohols, Phenols, and Ethers are the second-highest weightage-carrying chapters.

RBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam Pattern 2025-26

The RBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam comprises both theoretical and practical components for a total of 100 marks. The maximum time duration for the theoretical exam will be 3 hours and 15 minutes. The RBSE Class 12 Chemistry blueprint 2025-26 is provided below:

Practical Course:

1. Unit-1 Colloids -
(i) Preparation of one lyophilic and one lyophobic sol.
(ii) To purify prepared sol by dialysis.
(iii) Study of the role of emulsifying agents in stabilizing the emulsions of different oils.

2. Unit-2 Chemical Kinetics -
(i) Study of the Effect of concentration and temperature variation respectively on the
rate of reaction between Sodium thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid.
(ii) Study of the Effect of variation in the concentration of iodide ions on the reaction
of iodide ions with hydrogen peroxide at room temperature.
(iii) Study of the rate of reaction between potassium iodate (KIO3) and sodium sulphide (Na2SO3)

3. Unit-3 Thermochemical Measurement -
(i) To determine the enthalpy change in the dissolution of copper sulphate/potassium nitrate.
(ii) To determine the enthalpy change in the neutralisation of strong acid (HCL) by strong base (NaOH).
(iii) To determine the enthaphy change for the interaction (hydrogen bond formation) between chloroform and acetone

4. Unit-4 Electrochemistry -
(i) To study the Variation in cell potential of the cell Zn 1 Zn2+ Cu²* 1 Cu with change in concentration of electrolytes (CuSO4@ZnSO4) at room temperature.

5. Unit-5 Chromatography -
(i) To separate the pigments present in leaves (spinach) and flowers (rose, marigold) by paper-chromatography and determine the R₁ value.
(ii) Separation of components of a mixture of inorganic compounds containing two cations Pb2+ and Cd2+ by chromatographic technique.

6. Unit-6 Titrimetric Analysis (Redox Reactions) -
(i) To determine the concentration/molarity of KMnO4 solution by titration with a standard solution of oxalic acid.
(ii) To determine the concentration/molarity of potassium permanganate solution by titration with a standard solution of ferrous ammonium sulphate.

7. Unit-7 Systematic Qualitative Analysis -
(i) The given salt contains one cation (out of Pb2", Cu², As, Al³ Fe, Mn, Zn2+, Co², Ni²", Ca, Sr, Ba, Mg, NH) and one anion (out of CO2, S2, To identify SO3, SO², NO2, NO3, Cl, Br, I, PO4, C2O4², CH3COO.
(ii) Systematic analysis of anions, Preliminary tests by dilute sulphuric acid, Preliminary tests by concentrated Sulphuric acid, Tests for sulphate and phosphate, systematic analysis of cations, Preliminary examimation of salt for identification of cations, Wet tests for identification of cations, Analysis of group- zero cation (NH4), Analysis of group-I cations, Analysis of group-II cations, Analysis of group-III cations, Analysis of group-IV cation, Analysis of group-V cations, Analysis of group-VI cations.

8. Unit-8 Test for functional groups in organic compounds
(i) Test for unsaturation, Tests for functional groups-Alcoholic group (R-OH), Phenolic group (ArOH), Aldehydic and Ketonic groups (-CHO vkSj >C=O), Carboxyl group (-COOH), Amino group (-NH2).

9. Unit-9 Preparation of inorganic compounds
(i) Preparation of dilute salt, ferrous ammonium sulphate and potash alum.
(ii) Preparation of potassium trioxalateferrate.
