Who Can Appear for CBSE 12th Compartment Exam 2025?
Only students falling in the following guidelines can apply for the compartment exams according to the Central Board of Secondary Education:
- If you fail in one of the five subjects of the internal exam then you will be placed in the compartmental category however you must pass all the internal assessment subjects.
- To pass, you are required to score at least 33% marks in all five subjects of the external exams.
- The minimum passing marks will be 33% separately in both theory and practical exams.

CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exam Guidelines 2025
The following guidelines have been published by the Central Board of Secondary Education following the policy regarding compartmental exams:
- You will only be allowed to appear for the compartment exam in subjects which you failed.
- If you are unable to score the passing marks in compartment exams, you will be considered failed in the examination. After this, you will have to appear for board exams next year.
- You can appear for the next three chances of the compartment exam only for the subjects in which you got the compartment.
- If you fail in practical/internal assessment, you will have to reappear in both theory and practical/internal assessment.
- Follow the same syllabus, exam pattern, marking scheme, and other guidelines while preparing for compartment exams.
