Karnataka Passing Marks for 2nd PUC 2026 are 35% marks in each subject, including theory and practical. In the 70 marks paper, you need to get at least 24, 35 out of 100 marks, while in the 80 marks paper, you are to obtain 28. Similarly, you require 11 marks out of 30 and 7 out of 20 in practical exams. If there is no practical exam, you should secure 35 marks in the theory exam.

Karnataka 2nd PUC Marking Scheme 2026

KSEAB has introduced certain changes wherein the non-practical subjects, it will consider 20 marks as internal in the first and second PUC from the academic year 2023-24. As per these changes, respective teachers will record 20 marks to evaluate the students. Students will be given 10 points for internal evaluation depending on the first and second unit tests and the midterm exam. From these exams, the best of the two marks will be averaged to 10 points. There will be 20 internal marks for the core subjects like Maths, Business Studies, Economics, languages, and other core subjects. For the subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, electronics, computer science, home science, Carnatic music, Hindustani music, and national skills qualification framework subjects like IT, automobile, retail, beauty and wellness, (70+30) will continue. This applies to the 1st and 2nd PUC regular students from the 2023-24 academic year. However, private students and repeaters will have to answer a 100-mark question paper. Karnataka 2nd PUC Supplementary Exam 2026

In case you are unable to get the minimum passing marks as prescribed above, you will be required to sit for the supplementary exams. The supplementary exams are usually a second chance given to the students to complete their Senior Secondary Education if they are unable to secure the minimum passing marks in the very first exam. The supplementary exams are usually conducted in the upcoming months after the results are declared online.
