GSEB Board 2024 Overview

The Gujarat Secondary Education Board will tentatively hold the GSEB 10th and 12th exams for the AY 2023-24 in March 2024. The GSEB HSC timetable 2024 will be released in January 2024 for Science, General, and Vocational streams together. The GSEB SSC timetable 2024 will also be issued in January 2024. The GSEB practical examinations will be held in February 2024. The Gujarat Board registration process 2024 will begin in November 2023 for classes 10 and 12. The GSEB SSC hall ticket 2024 and GSEB HSC Science hall ticket 2024 will be released in February 2024. Whereas the hall tickets for the GSEB HSC General Stream exam 2024 will be issued in the first week of March 2024. 

In AY 2023-24, the GSEB Board exams will be conducted for the 100% syllabus. The state board will release the GSEB answer keys 2024 a few days before the announcement of the results. GSEB 10th result 2024 will be released in the second week of May 2024. Those failing to achieve the minimum qualifying mark in one or two subjects can appear in the supplementary exams. Students can also opt for re-evaluation if unsatisfied with their secured marks. Additionally, they should practice the GSEB previous year's question papers to clarify their doubts regarding the exam format and marks distribution.

About Gujarat Board 

Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) is responsible for conducting the board examinations in all GSEB-affiliated schools in the state. The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board was established on September 28, 1973. The GSEB 10th board is called the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam, whereas the GSEB 12th board is called the Higher Secondary (School) Certificate (HSC) exam. Approximately 10 lakh students appear for the Gujarat Board SSC examination, and 8 lakh students for the GSEB HSC exams yearly. Students appearing for both the GSEB 10th board and GSEB 12th board should understand the registration process, admit card release, exam pattern, syllabus, question papers, and much more.

GSEB Board Date Sheet 2024 

The Gujarat board will release the GSEB 10th timetable 2024 and GSEB 12th timetable 2024 in January 2024 on its official website. The GSEB SSC exam 2024 will be held between the second week of March and March last week 2024. The practical exams for the GSEB HSC science stream will be conducted in February 2024. The GSEB HSC theory exams 2024 for both the Science stream and general stream will begin in March second week, 2024. The GSEB HSC vocational exams will also be held in March 2024.

The GSEB HSC 12th exam 2024 for the general stream will be held in two shifts; from 10.30 a.m to 1.45 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6.15 p.m. The science stream exams will be held in a single shift.

Gujarat Board Registration Form 2024 

The GSEB Board registration 2024 process will tentatively begin in November 2023, and the last date for the submission will be in January 2024, with late fees. Students are advised to fill up the registration form under the guidance of the school authorities. Any error in the form fill-up will be reflected in the registration and hall tickets, and students may face difficulty afterward.

The steps involved in the GSEB SSC registration process and GSEB HSC registration process are given as follows:

• Schools have to log in with the index numbers and passwords.
• They will have to submit the application details of all students.
• Students can view their applications and verify the details. It is a very important step.
• In case of any change in details, schools can edit the application form.
• The principal has to approve all the corrected and verified documents.
• The registration payment has to be made to complete the GSEB registration process.

Failure to complete the registration process on time will be penalized with late fees. The documents required to be submitted are email id, mobile number, payment reference ID, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name, birth district, Aadhar card number, caste certificate, education details, photo and signature.

GSEB Board Admit Card 2024 

The Gujarat board will release the GSEB SSC hall tickets 2024 in February 2024. The GSEB 12th hall ticket 2024 for the general stream exam will be released in March 2024. While the GSEB HSC Science Hall ticket 2024 will be issued in February 2024. Students have to collect admit cards from their respective schools and carefully go through the spellings and dates printed on them. If any error is identified, it should immediately be informed to the school authorities for rectification. 

The admit card contains the board name, exam name, student’s name, roll number, registration number, photograph; school details; examination center: name, details, guidelines, and exam timetable. Students must ensure that all the above specifications are written on the admit cards. They must also carry any other ID proof along with the admit card to the examination hall to gain entry. The invigilator will not allow students to appear for the examinations without a proper hall ticket; therefore admit cards must be carried daily to each examination. 

GSEB Board Exam Pattern 2024 

Gujarat board releases the GSEB class 10th exam pattern 2024 and GSEB 12th exam pattern 2024 based on the syllabus of the latest academic year. Students must check the exam pattern before starting their groundwork for the examination as they will get familiar with the types of questions asked and the marking scheme. They must visit the official website to get full details of the exam pattern. To give a brief idea to the students, the exam patterns of both SSC and HSC exams are given below.

GSEB SSC Class 10 Exam Pattern 2024

The exam pattern for GSEB 10th board 2023 is given below:

• The total marks for each subject is 100.
• Students must get at least 33% to qualify for the exam.
• The GSEB class 10 question paper contains two parts: Part A and Part B. Each part carries 50 marks.
• Part A consists of theoretical questions.
• Part B is subdivided into four sections and consists of objective questions. The sections include knowledge of the subject, understanding of the subject, application-based questions and questions based on skills. 
• Two sections of part B will be of 15 marks each and the other two sections will be of 10 marks each.

GSEB HSC Class 12 Exam Pattern 2024

The exam pattern for GSEB 12th board 2024 is given below:

• The exam will be conducted on the full syllabus, unlike the previous year when the syllabus was reduced.
• The questions will be based on the analytical thinking and problem-solving skills of the students.
• Competency-based questions will be introduced in the question paper as a new change.
• The full marks of the paper will be 100. The theoretical portion is 70 marks whereas the internal assessments will be 30 marks.
• Schools will conduct an internal examination to determine the eligibility of the candidates. It is mandatory to qualify for the exam to be able to sit for the final theoretical paper.
• The questions this year will be based more on real-life situations, where students will require to apply, analyse, evaluate and synthesize information. 

The following changes have been released by the Gujarat board 2024 to discourage students from rote learning textbooks. GSEB also intends to test student’s reasoning and analytical skills. GSEB is hopeful that the academic standards will improve with the aforesaid exam pattern. 

Gujarat Board Syllabus 2024 

The GSEB syllabus 2024 is mentioned on the official website of the Gujarat board. Students can download and refer to them to start preparation. The GSEB class 10th syllabus and GSEB class 12th syllabus are based on real-life situations to benefit students and make academics easy and interesting. The grading pattern and curriculum are provided, making it easier for the students to prepare for the examinations. The GSEB syllabus is in PDF under the “Academics” section and contains question patterns, formats, and designs. It also gives an idea of the marks distribution of the question paper. 

Students must devise preparation strategies to cover the GSEB SSC syllabus 2024 and the GSEB HSC syllabus 2024 on time, at least two months before the exam, to get enough time to revise the topics. The GSEB 12th syllabus has been reduced, and therefore students must cover the entire reduced syllabus to score excellent marks in the exam. They should also practice mock test papers based on the syllabus to understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Gujarat Board Result 2024 

The Gujarat board will publish the GSEB HSC result 2024 for the Science stream in May first week of 2024. The GSEB HSC result 2024 for General streams will be announced alongside the GSEB SSC Result 2024 by May 2024. The GSEB 10th Results 2024 will be released a few days before the GSEB 12th Results 2024 on its official website. Students will need their seven-digit seat numbers to check their GSEB results in 2024. Students can also use the SMS facility to check the results besides the website. Students must download and save the online declared results till they receive the original mark sheets. Students unsatisfied with their grades and scores can apply for a recheck if they feel their scores could be more satisfactory. The schools provide application forms for the same and charge a fee. 

Gujarat Board Compartment Exam 2024 

The Gujarat Board will hold the compartment exams for the students who fail in a maximum of three subjects in the GSEB board examinations in July 2024. The students will have to register for the compartment exams through the schools using their previous admit card, subject, and photograph. Candidates can appear for three papers for the compartment exam. Students who remain absent during their SSC or HSC exams can also appear for the compartment exam. Students will receive a separate admit card for the exam containing the seat number and index number. The Gujarat board supplementary exam results will be declared in August 2024. The students will receive an updated mark sheet with the new marks after the exam is conducted.
