The latest marking scheme for the JAC 10th English is provided below:- The paper is divided into three sections: Section A: Reading Skills, Section B: Grammar and Writing, and Section C: Literature.
- Section A is of 20 marks. This Section comprises one unseen passage of 200 words with four comprehensive questions of 8 marks and one unseen passage of 300 words with six comprehensive questions of 12 marks.
- Section B is writing and grammar worth 30 marks. It contains letter writing of 8 marks and paragraph writing on a given topic of 8 marks. Use of Non finites, sentence connectors, clauses, past tense, etc., for 6 marks. Use of Modals for 6 marks and transformation for 4 marks.
- The total number of marks in section C is 40. It contains one passage with 4 comprehension questions of 4 marks and one out of two prose questions from any of the prose lessons of 6 marks. One extract from a poem followed by 4 questions of 4 marks and two out of three short answer-type questions of 6 marks. One out of two questions to evaluate in the supplementary reader of 8 marks and one out of two short answer-type questions of 2 marks.
