The Directorate of Government Examination (DGE), Tamil Nadu, has set guidelines related to the Tamil Nadu Board 10th Passing Marks. As per the guidelines, you are required to score a minimum of 35% marks in each subject, which includes the theory and practical examinations. It is mandatory to score 35 marks out of 100 to pass all the subjects in the TN 10th exam 2026. There are 5 compulsory subjects and 1 optional subject that students will have to appear for in the Tamil Nadu SSLC exam 2026. In the practical-based subject, you need to acquire at least 20 out of 75 in the theory paper and 15 out of 25 in the practical exam. The Tamil Nadu 10th Result 2026 will be declared in May 2026.

All the Science subjects will be divided into two papers: theory and practical. In the subjects with practicals, the theory paper will carry 75 marks, while the remaining 25 marks will be in the practical paper. The language papers will be divided into two papers: Paper I and Paper II. You are required to obtain at least a grade D in all subjects to clear the Tamil Nadu class 10th exam. Those who will not be able to clear the TN 10th exam 2026 can appear for the Tamil Nadu 10th supplementary exam 2026, which will be held in June/July 2026.

Tamil Nadu 10th Grading System 2026

Tamil Nadu 10th Revaluation 2026

If the students are not satisfied with their marks, after the results have been announced, they can apply for the revaluation of their answer sheets. For revaluation, the students need to fill out the revaluation form, which will be available on the official website dge.tn.gov.in, as soon as the results are out. The students need to pay Rs. 505 to apply for revaluation. After a few days, the result of the revaluation will be released. The marks may increase, decrease, or even remain the same. This result will be final, and the students cannot apply again for revaluation.

Tamil Nadu 10th Compartment Exams 2026

If any student does not achieve passing marks in one or more subjects, he/she has to appear for the compartment exams. The TN 10th compartment Application Form will be released on the official website of the Directorate of Government Examination (DGE). The TN 10th compartment exam 2026 will be conducted in June 2026 and the results of these exams will be declared in July 2026. The passing marks for the compartment exams are the same as the regular exam, i.e., 35%. The students need to achieve a minimum of 35% in all the failed subjects to pass the 10th boards. The result of the compartment exams will be final, and if a student fails to achieve passing marks in the compartment exams, he/she will have to repeat the class in the following academic year.
