Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) is responsible for organizing the HP 10th and HP 12th boards. From prescribing the syllabus to deciding the course of instruction and textbooks, the HP board is involved in every day-to-day activity of schools running in Himachal Pradesh. For the academic year 2024, HPBOSE has discarded the two-term examination system. The exams are going to be conducted annually. Himachal Pradesh Board Overview

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education was formed under the Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968. Earlier, its headquarter was in Shimla, which was later shifted to Dharamsala. At present, the board conducts the exams for classes 10th and 12th. Annually 5 lakh students appear for the examination from more than 8000 schools affiliated with the board. There are 1846 exam centers across the state. It is also in charge of publishing textbooks for classes 1 to 12. The board tries to improve the quality of education by considering the latest standards. 

Last year, the HPBOSE board chose to stick with the Covid-19-related changes in the exam pattern, with exams being conducted twice a year in the form of two semesters. However, for 2023-2024, the board is reverting to the pre-covid exam pattern of conducting only one exam for the boards. Students are advised to review the syllabus, exam pattern, and previous year's question papers released by the HPBOSE board. As the time left is short, it is advised to wrap up the preparation and start revision as soon as possible.

HP Board Date Sheet 2024

The HP Board Date Sheet 2024 is published under the “Examinations” drop-down menu. Students can visit the link with the name “Date Sheet.” There the date sheet will be issued along with specific exam-related instructions. The date sheet contains the date, day, subject name, and time of the examination. The practical exam dates will be communicated to the students by the school authorities and will take place before the commencement of the theoretical examination. HP Board Registration Form 2024

HPBOSE board releases the registration forms for the students to register for the board examinations by sharing the required documents and photographs. Once the registration is complete, students will receive admit cards before the examination. While it is mandatory to fill up the form in proper order, it is also necessary to be cautious while writing the details. The teachers and parents should lend a helping hand for such purposes and guide them to fill up the registration form accurately. 

Students are also required to submit an application fee along with the form. Submitting the registration form after the due date may result in a penalty and should be filled out as soon as possible. The application fee for class 10 is INR 500, and for class 12 is INR 550. They should also submit a photograph and sign in the space given. The institution's principal must put their signature and stamp on the form to be considered valid. 

HP Board Admit Card 2024

HP Board admit card 2024 for both classes 10th and 12th will be released a few weeks ahead of the beginning of the exam. They are released on the board’s website online, and the school authorities can download them with their respective login credentials. As admit cards help students to get admittance to the exam hall, it becomes imperative for them to collect it from their schools and bring it to the exam center. The admit card is a vital document that should be checked properly. The particulars printed on the admit card must be matched, and any error must be informed to their class teachers, who can take necessary action to sort out the discrepancy as soon as possible.

HP Board Result 2024

HPBOSE board will release HP board 10th result 2024 online along with the 12th board results. These results should be released by June 2024. To check the results, one needs the student's roll number and birth date. For areas with poor internet connectivity, students can enroll for the SMS feature to learn their results. Students must also download a copy of the result till the original mark sheets are distributed.

The mark sheets will include the student's name, roll number, subjects name, theory and practical marks, subject-wise marks, division, and result status. Students will be able to collect their mark sheets from their schools within a few weeks of the result declaration. Collecting the original mark sheet from the school is compulsory, as the authenticity of the soft copy result is often questioned. The paper rechecking process will start after the distribution of the result. Students can file applications for re-checking of subjects in which they received unsatisfactory marks.

HP Board Compartment Exam 2024

Students who fail to secure above 33% scores in one or two subjects can contact their respective schools to appear for the HP board compartment exams 2024. This process will be initiated soon after the result declaration, and the schools must notify students of the steps and exam fees, if any. Students need to collect the admit cards for compartment exams from their respective schools. Students must constantly visit the website to learn about the test dates. The results of the compartment exam 2024 will be released by October/November 2024. A new mark sheet will be distributed to successful candidates with their updated marks, and they will also receive a passing certificate from the board.
