JKBOSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2023-24: JKBOSE 10th Exam Pattern 2024 has been made available by the board on the official website for the students who are going to appear for the JKBOSE 10th Examination 2024 to understand the marking scheme in a better manner. To introduce students to the board exams, the JK board provides the exam pattern every year along with the official notification for board exams. The exam pattern guides students about the weightage of marks. Through this, students can know which topics need more attention. The exam pattern in addition to JKBOSE Class 10th Previous Year’s Question Papers will help students prepare for board exams.  As per the JKBOSE 10th exam pattern 2024, the examinations will be conducted for a total of three hours. The JK Board 10th exams 2024 will be held between March 11 and April 4, 2024. By solving the questions papers, students can get familiar with the kind of questions asked in the board exam. Facing such challenges in advance prepares students to formulate a strategy to answer all the questions. The new scheme focuses on effective learning, JKBOSE has revised the 10th Exam Pattern 2023-24. A majority of the portion remains the same. There are a few changes that are introduced by the JKBOSE board this year. Some of the major changes introduced by the board in the JKBOSE 10th Exam Pattern 2023-24 are listed below:

  • The students are required to take the board exam for 6 subjects which will be compulsory.
  • The 6 subjects will include English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and two optional language subjects
  • The score of 5 best subjects will be taken into consideration to calculate the final score of the students.
  • The theoretical paper will have 80 marks under the new method, and 20% of those marks will come from the internal evaluation.
  • The Jammu and Kashmir Board has revised the structure and format of question papers while taking into account the analytical approach, critical thinking, and objectivity.
  • The J&K Board exam schedule includes a full topic-by-topic breakdown of all optional and required topics' marks.
  • It includes the total number of questions as well as the kinds of questions from each area that will be asked.
  • According to the new plan, the J&K 10th exam will last a total of three hours. Candidate can organise and strategically plan their studies with the aid of the exam pattern.

JKBOSE 10th Exam Pattern 2023-24

The students need to be completely aware of the JKBOSE 10th Exam Pattern 2023-24 which will not only help them prepare well for the exam but also score higher marks.

  • JKBOSE 10th exam 2023-24will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper).
  • The students will have to appear for 6 compulsory subjects in the exam which include English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and two optional language subjects.
  • The students can choose any two optional subjects as per their choice of subjects.
  • The duration of the board exam will be 3 hours for each theory subject. There will be two parts of the JKBOSE 10th Exam Pattern 2023-24, internal assessment and the final exam.

JKBOSE 10th Exam Pattern 2023-24 for English

The English paper for JKBOSE 10th board 2023-24 will be conducted for a total of 3 hours duration. The paper will be conducted for a total of 100 marks out of which 20 marks will be for internal assessment and 80 marks for final exam.

The Mathematics paper for JKBOSE 10th board 2023-24 will be conducted for a total of 3 hours duration. The paper will be conducted for a total of 100 marks out of which 20 marks will be for practical exam and 80 marks for final exam. Two papers will be included in the JK Board 10th Science exam: a theory paper worth 84 marks and a practical paper worth 16 marks. Both papers must be completed in three hours. JKBOSE 10th Exam Pattern 2023-24 for Optional Subject

The optional subject paper for JKBOSE 10th board 2023-24 will be conducted for a total of 3 hours duration. The candidates can choose any two papers as per their choice. The choice of subjects for language consists of Modern Indian Languages, Classical Languages and Modern Foreign Languages. The paper will be conducted for a total of 100 marks.

JKBOSE 10th Exam Pattern - Marking Scheme

It is also important for the students to go through the JKBOSE 10th Exam marking scheme. This will help the students understand how the questions will be marked and how to answer them to gain more marks. The students can check from the points below the JKBOSE 10th Exam marking scheme:

  • The overall exam will be conducted for 100 marks for each subject. 
  • The internal exams will be conducted as 20% part of the exam.
  • The remaining 80% marks will be awarded for the final written exam.

  • 20% marks for internal assessment will be divided as per the components.

JKBOSE 10th Grading System

JKBOSE has introduced a grading system for class 10th which will be implemented on each subject. The grades will be provided to the candidates based on marks obtained in the board exam following a 9 point grading system. Grades will be awarded in each scholastic subject. For awarding the grades, the Board will put all the passed students in a rank order and will award the grades as follows:
