Then make an effective study plan devoting equal time and effort to each section of the subject. Have a clear understanding of the course structure, subjects, topics, and weightage. Try to dedicate 6 to 8 hours to study.

You will need a lot of practice to read and understand the unseen passages in the short duration of the examination hall. Develop a habit of reading newspapers and storybooks for at least half an hour thrice a week. This will not only enhance your reading speed but also help you gather information and collate them quickly. Moreover, during the exam, always read the questions before going through the unseen passages. This will help you save time from looking for the answers while reading them
  • Enhance your Writing Skills: For your Maharashtra HSC English exam, you will have to write essays, formal and informal letters, notices, reports, and so on. Revise and memorize the beginning and the ending formats well. Also, keep in mind about the word limit; do not exceed your word limit, at the most, you can keep it 10 words short of the word limit. Also, divide the topic into small five paragraphs in essay writing, articles, debates, or speeches. Practice letter and essay writing in particular on every alternate day 15 days before the exam. Keep the word limit in mind during the practice sessions as well.
  • Enhance your critical thinking capacity: If anyone can harness this cognitive skill in the right way, it will be a lifelong asset for them. This is essential for acing the literature section of the Maharashtra HSC English exam. Try to develop a parallel text when you are going through prose or poetry. Allow yourself to look at the text from a different angle or prism of thoughts. Discuss them with your friends and teachers to find out new angles and perspectives.
  • Memorise Important Quotes and Names: While writing an answer, quote the lines from the poems, plays, or prose in your answer sheet. This will fetch you better marks. However, writing the wrong quotation can deduct your marks. Therefore you need to learn them by heart, jot them down in your notebook, and keep them handy in your study area so that you can quickly go through them. In addition to this, it is also very important to remember the names of the authors of the texts.
  • Be Consistent: Try to follow your study schedule consistently. You do not have to study for 9-10 hours every day. But do effective and smart study every day.
