CBSE Class 12th Geography Chapter 1 - Population Distribution Density Growth and Composition is an important chapter of the second book in Geography. According to the Geography syllabus, two books are included in the curriculum: Fundamental of Human Geography and India People and Economy. Both books have different chapters that are to be studied equally by the students to score good marks. According to the latest syllabus, the first chapter in the second book will have a weightage of 5 marks. The second book has a total of 5 units and 9 chapters. The other chapters in the book are: Human Settlements, Land Resources and Agriculture, Water Resources, Mineral And Energy Resources, Planning and Sustainable Development in Indian Context, Transport and Communication, International Trade, and Geographical Perspective on selected issues and problems.
The theory paper in Geography will be conducted for 70 marks and each book will carry 35 marks of weightage. The remaining 30 marks will be provided for the internal assessment/project work. The specific learning objectives for Chapter 1 are to correlate population distribution and density with the physiography of India and to familiarize students with the demographic attributes of India. To prepare efficiently for the papers, students are required to complete their syllabus on time and then move on to the revision by using the latest sample question papers available on the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education. The Central Board of Secondary Education has also recently released the date sheet for class 12th exams. According to the latest date sheet released by CBSE, the class 12th papers will commence on February 15, 2025, and end on April 4, 2025. The exam will be conducted in the pen and paper format.
