CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2023-24: Overview

The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the CBSE class 10 syllabus 2023-24 on its academic website, cbse.gov.in. The Board has released the CBSE 10th syllabus 2023-24 for all the main and elective subjects. Even for the academic session 2023-24, CBSE will be conducting Class 10th exams on an annual basis with the entire syllabus. Meaning, there will be no term-wise examinations like the previous academic years. However, there will be a 30% reduction in the CBSE Class 10 syllabus 2023-24 making it easier for the students to pass the examination.

This subject-wise syllabus comprises question paper design, course structure, unit-wise marks distribution, and number of periods in each unit of a subject. It will allow the students to get an outline of the curriculum and prepare themselves accordingly from scratch. Students appearing for the CBSE Class 10 Exam 2023-24, must be aware of the CBSE 10th Exam Pattern 2023-24 as well, which includes long or short questions, MCQs, and competency-based questions. CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2023-24: Scholastic & Co-Scholastic

The CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2023-24 can be classified into two parts namely, the Scholastic section and the Co-Scholastic section. The major subjects such as Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science fall into the category of the Scholastic section of the CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2023-24. Here, Each subject covers different units and chapters carrying a specific weightage. Depending on the importance as well as the difficulty level of the topic, the weightage of each unit or chapter is determined.

CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2023-24: Communicative English

CBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2023-24

As per the latest CBSE Class 10 exam pattern 2023-24, a total of 100 marks will be allotted for each subject where 80 marks will be evaluated based on the theory exams, and the remaining 20 marks will be for the practical exams. Moreover, the CBSE 10th question papers will consist of 40% MCQs, 20% will be competency-based questions, and the remaining 40% will have subjective or short/long answer type questions. Students will have to obtain a minimum of 33 percent marks in each subject and in aggregate marks to pass the CBSE 10th exam 2024.
