CBSE Class 12th Biology Chapter 10 - Microbes in Human Welfare is included in Unit 8 of the syllabus. Unit-VIII: Biology and Human Welfare consists of two chapters, namely Human Health and Diseases and Microbes in Human Welfare. Chapter 10 consists of the following topics: Microbes in food processing, industrial production, sewage treatment, energy generation, and microbes as bio-control agents and bio-fertilizers. Antibiotics: production and judicious use. The weightage for Unit 8 is 8 marks, which is divided into two parts for the two chapters included in the unit. Each chapter will carry at least 4 marks. The theory paper in Biology will be conducted for 70 marks. A 30-mark practical will be conducted in Biology, which will include experiments from the different units included in the syllabus.
There will be different types of questions included in the board question paper according to the latest changes made by CBSE. Questions based on Demonstrate Knowledge and Understanding will account for 50%, Application of Knowledge / Concepts for 30%, and Analyse, Evaluate, and Create for 20%. The question paper will be a mix of MCQs, very short answer type questions, short answer type questions, passage-based questions, cartoon-based questions, and long answer type questions. The following books are prescribed by CBSE to study the syllabus: Biology, Class-XII, published by NCERT, Other related books and manuals brought out by NCERT (consider multimedia also), and Biology Supplementary Material (Revised), which is available on the CBSE website. You can take mock tests available on the Internet to test your preparation level after completing your curriculum. Do not forget to actively practice the diagrams included in the syllabus to achieve excellent marks during the board exams.
