CBSE Class 12th Biology Chapter 14 - Ecosystem: In CBSE Class 12th Biology, Ecosystem is an interesting chapter that provides knowledge to students about our ecosystem. Through the chapter, students learn about the relationships between living organisms and their physical environment. They get knowledge of how nutrients cycle, how different organisms interact in their environments, and how energy flows. An ecosystem covers many aspects in terms of nature, duration, and size. To make it easy for students, the ecosystem is divided into natural and artificial (based on nature), temporary and permanent (based on duration), small and large (based on size). They develop a good understanding of the structure of the ecosystem including biotic and abiotic components.

From the chapter, students can expect very short, short, and long questions. The questions will be asked for different marks. After understanding the questions, students should write the answers. They should also check the marks and add the points in the answers to justify marks. Following are the questions related to the chapter. Try to write perfect answers for each of them.

Q.1 - Define ecological pyramids and describe with examples, pyramids of number and biomass.

Q.2 - Write important features of a sedimentary cycle in an ecosystem.

Q.3 - What is primary productivity? Give a brief description of factors that affect primary productivity.

Q.4 - Outline salient features of carbon cycling in an ecosystem.

Q.5 - Give an account of energy flow in an ecosystem.

The students should focus on understanding the key concepts such as Ecosystem–Structure and Function, Productivity, Decomposition, Energy Flow, Ecological Pyramids, Ecological Succession, Nutrient Cycling, and Ecosystem Services to prepare questions for exams.

Are you feeling lost and unsure about what career path to take after completing 12th standard?

Say goodbye to confusion and hello to a bright future!
